Two codefendants are key in the trial of a man who a prosecutor has labeled the "ringleader" in the Nov. 24 execution of Fredericksburg resident Rodney Beanum. Wesley Carlton Smith, 23, of Stafford County is charged in Fredericksburg Circuit Court with multiple offenses-including first-degree murder and robbery-in connection with the slaying of Beanum.
