The latest in a series of break-ins at downtown businesses occurred between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, according to Fredericksburg police. Police responded at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday to a business in the 900 block of Charles Street, where the owner reported that an unknown person had attempted to enter the premises, apparently by trying to kick in the door, a police report stated.
