Regulations a ploy to restrict abortion

RICHMOND--Over the past two weeks, women in Virginia and across the country have had reason to be worried--and outraged. Two Supreme Court decisions--passed down within days of each other--have continued and expanded a dangerous anti-woman trend with which we in the commonwealth have become intimately and frustratingly familiar. In the McCullen v. Coakley case, the Supreme Court struck down a Massachusetts buffer zone designed to protect patients and staff from harassment at women's health centers--despite upholding their own buffer zone and similar protections around polling locations and political conventions. In the well-known Hobby Lobby case, five male Supreme Court justices ruled that for-profit corporations could refuse to provide birth control coverage in their female employees' health insurance plans, despite covering several forms of reproductive health care for men, such as Viagra and vasectomies....
